Renaissance Senior Living of Hilldale Names Melissa Yaun as The Harbor’s Memory Care Coordinator

The Wisconsin native brings over a decade of healthcare experience to her new role, where she will ensure that residents of 23 memory care suites receive the highest quality of care and services.

MADISON, Wis. (February 21, 2022) – Renaissance Senior Living of Hilldale, the newest member of Cleveland, Tenn.-based Legacy Senior Living family of assisted living and memory care facilities projected to open in the 1st quarter of 2022, has named Melissa Yaun, RN, as its Memory Care Coordinator.

Yaun, a Wisconsin native, will oversee staffing and care provided at the facility’s 28 memory care suites, known as The Harbor. This includes oversight of its state-of-the-art memory care programs Purposeful Day℠ and SimpleC™, which have been researched and designed to enhance and improve the lives of individuals living with memory-related conditions.

With over a decade in the nursing field, Yaun’s experience includes several years of long-term care, including three years as a Licensed Certified Dementia Practitioner.

“We have worked diligently to find the right individuals to join our team at Renaissance Senior Living of Hilldale. For The Harbor, in particular, we have needed someone who not only had experience working with Alzheimer’s and dementia but who also had a passion for ensuring that seniors are treated with honor, respect, faith and integrity. Melissa has a heart for seniors and a heart for memory care, and I know she is going to do a wonderful job providing residents and their families with a well-deserved, safe refuge from the storms associated with any form of dementia,” Kim Kay, Executive Director of Renaissance Senior Living of Hilldale, said.

“Melissa is a breath of fresh air to our team and our community. Her years of experience in resident care and her passion to serve others makes her the clear choice. She takes an energetic and creative approach to resident care, while having the foundation of knowledge in Alzheimer’s and dementia training that will create a noticeably high quality of life for our memory care residents. We’re blessed to have Melissa join our team,” said Jason Gibson, Vice President of Operations with Legacy Senior Living.

“I am humbled to have been selected to serve in this capacity at Renaissance Senior Living of Hilldale. Since starting my career in healthcare as a caregiver, I knew I had begun a lifelong journey in serving seniors. With an emphasis on dementia and Alzheimer’s care, I look forward to providing patient-centered care to our residents at The Harbor,” Yaun said.

Yaun is very close with her family, including her mini-schnauzer, Harvey. She is a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello, WI, and she enjoys attending music concerts and theater productions, hiking, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers in her free time.
